Beats Wireless Mic Not Working

Hello people.

Why isn't my microphone working any more?

Mic

Simple enough question but I haven't got a clue as to the answer.
I was on windows 8.1 pro and updated to windows 10 pro.
My issue is when I have my xbox 360 controller connected, the controller works fine however, I normally use my xbox 360 turtle beach x42 headset and have the wire from them connected to the controller and it worked fine in windows 7 ultimate, windows 8.1 pro and yet in windows 10 it picks it up but does not receive any sound from it so to speak.
The mic is defiantly working as the turtle beach talk back feature is still working and I can hear myself through it.
I have tried looking at my playback devices and enabling listen [no sound gets picked up] and I have tried unplugging my mic and controller separately and restarting multiple times but to no avail.
When I plug my mic into the controller It makes the 'device connected' sound and instantly shows up in my recording devices section.
So frankly I'm a bit at loss with it.
